NHL tonight

Tonight there are 4 big games in the NHL, lets look at what kind of line up we can make tonight.

Centers
Sidney Crosby is quietly having a good season.  While he hasn't been scoring many goals, he has been racking up the points.  I say pick him tonight.

Wings
At wing tonight, look at Marian Gaborik.  The former 40 goal scorer is always dangerous to light the lamp.  Also, if you are willing to pay the price, look at Taylor Hall and Max Pacioretty.  They are always looking to have a big game

Defense
As usual, I like to pick cheap defensive players.  Tonight is no different.  The first is not cheap however, Drew Doughty lit up the Olympics this year, and I'm hoping he lights up the lamp tonight.  Mark Fayne is my cheap defender of the night.  He averages 2 FP a night, hopefully he can double that tonight.

Goalie
The goalie of the nigh is the best backup available.  Viktor Fasth is looking to collect his third win of the year.  Fasth has fallen down on some hard times, but I think that tonight against Edmonton he'll notch another win in his belt.

NFL Week 2 Matchups

So, its week 2 of the NFL season so lets look at some of the possible big plays for the fantasy week.

QB
Early in the season quarterbacks usually have the upper hand on the defenses.  There could be some big numbers put up.  If you are willing to pay up, look at Peyton Manning.  Other quarterbacks to consider are Big Ben against the Ravens.  He's had up and down games, but look for a good one. Also consider Philip Rivers because he's always a good pick

RB
Arian Foster is probably the best running back of the past 5 years.  Always look for him to have a good game.  Le'veon Bell is going to have a great season this year so look for him to have a good game.

WR
There are two receivers that are must picks.  It just so happens they both play for the Broncos.  Emanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas are two huge targets for the best quarterback in the league.  Thomas is always a good pick for touchdown and the Sanders Manning hook up was looking good in the preseason.

And those are the picks of the week

Week 3 NFL

Week 3 football has the looks of a very successful week.  Here are the plays...

QB
The Falcons are taking on a bad team in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Look for Matt Ryan to have a huge week.  He's coming in at a very affordable price too.

RB
The two running backs to look at this week are Le'veon Bell and Demarco Murray.  Murray has proved to be Mr. consistent over the past two weeks.  Look for him to pass the century mark again and score a touchdown.  Bell is playing against the Panthers, enough said.  Pick them both.

WR
I think AJ Green is a good pick this week.  Green and Dalton have some of the best chemistry in the league.  Look for Green to get a ton of targets this week.  Also look for Emanuel Sanders to have a ton of catches this week

Week 4 NFL

Week 4 football is coming up so lets look at some of the picks of week.

QB
At quarterback this week, look at the ever consistent Peyton Manning.  He is tearing up the league right now and will put up the most points this week.

RB
Demarco Murray is looking like the best running back in the league right now.  He is running like Emmitt Smith these days.  I could see some other running backs looking like great picks.  Names like Forte, Lynch, and Morris are mid range guys that could all run for big yards.

WR
At receiver this week look at the Broncos.  It seems like you can't miss on any of these guys.  Thomas and Sanders are always great picks.  In other games, look at Dez Bryant, Jeremy Maclin, and even Antonio Bryant.  These receivers are always good plays, but especially this week.

Week 5 NFL

Week 5 football is looking like a good week to make some money, so lets look at my fantasy predictions.

QB
Again, this week I'd take a look at Peyton.  He is just too good to no pick.  Also, look at Philip Rivers and surprisingly Brian Hoyer.  The Browns are looking good this season so far, even without their star wide receiver Gordon.

RB
At running back this week look at Eddie Lacey to have a good game.  Minnesota has an average defense against the run and Lacey is a ground and pound kind of back.  I could see him scoring a few time this week.

WR
Demaryius Thomas is the pick.  He is sitting at the most expensive receiver on Draftkings this week.  I could see him putting up the biggest number of the week.  Also, look at the usual suspects Dez Bryant and Jeremy Maclin.

Week 6 NFL

This is a tough week for picks because we're gonna have to find some good value picks.  This weeks theme is cheap is better.

QB
Our value pick of the week is Joe Flaco.  He's playing Tampa so he could put up some really good numbers.  Other quarterbacks to look at are Kyle Orton who is starting for the Bills this week and they always seem to be able to beat the Patriots.

RB
A running back to look at this week is Joique Bell.  He comes in at a reasonable price and the Lions have been trying to tie in the run this year.  I could see a trip to the end zone in his future.

WR
There is always one receiver who has a big game who nobody notices.  This week I will try to predict it.  Reilly Cooper is a very solid receiver for the Eagles.  He comes in at a pretty cheap price.  Look for Cooper to have over 5 catches and even a touch down.

Week 7 NFL Fantasy

Week 7 fantasy football, nearly at the halfway point of the season.  Let's look at our picks of the week.

QB
As usual, I advise the pick of Peyton Manning.  He's going to put up numbers.  Peyton is the most expensive for a reason.  Other guys to look at might be Tom Brady against the Jets and Carson Palmer against the Raiders.

RB
Demarco Murray is still killin' it week to week.  He's been very consistent and I expect the same this week.  Jamal Charles will probably have a big week as well.  Look for him to run for 100 yards and grab around 5 passes.

WR
My two picks of the week are Dez Bryant and Randall Cobb.  Dez is one of the best young talents in the league.  He will receive a bunch of targets this week.  Cobb is the deep threat of the Packers offense.  He'll put a big catch for a touchdown this week.  Look for both to shine bright this week.

Week 8 NFL

Lets look at the picks for week 8 in the NFL

QB
There is a good match up this week between the Broncos and Chargers.  This is going to be an old fashioned shootout.  Peyton and Rivers are going to both have very high fantasy ceilings this week.  Look for both to throw at least 3 touchdowns.

RB
The Texans are facing the Titans.  This means Arian Foster will most likely drop a big number on them.  Look for maybe his best rushing performance of the season.  Demarco Murray is always in play, but also look at Ronnie Hillman as a cheap play.

WR
Jeremy Maclin is one of the hottest receivers in the NFL right now.  He's looking to try and have a big day against one of the best defenses in the league.  Golden Tate is also someone to look at because Calvin Johnson is injured.  These two should seriously be considered.

Week 9 NFL

Week 9 of the NFL season in around the corner so lets look at some fantasy picks for the week.

QB
Last week Ben Rothlisberger had the game of a career last week.  The Steeler offense was at its best.  I think that Ben can carry his magic one more week against the rival Ravens.  Another good pick could be the dark horse of the league.  Mark Sanchez will now be starting for the Eagles.  In his first start in 2 years, I think he will have a great game.

RB
At running back this week I personally will be picking Denard Robinson.  He has come out of nowhere to rush for 100 yards in consecutive weeks.  Mark Ingram has been getting carries his last few games, so I would consider adding him as well.

WR
For the second week in a row I'm going to say Jeremy Maclin.  Its seems like he and Sanchez have left off where Foles started.  Maclin is having a career year, he is a must start.  Mike Evans is having a great rookie year, so take him into consideration as well.

NBA Draftkings tonight

Tonight in the NBA there are a 7 great games to choose players from.

PG
Tonight stems a few of the best point guards in the league.  I'm looking at 2 of them, Darren Collison and Mike Conley.  Both come in at a pretty low price and both have the chance of putting up double doubles.

SG
There isn't a huge selection tonight at shooting guard unless you want to pay up for James Harden.  My choice of the night is Lance Stephenson.  He is the second most expensive, but still comes in only at 6,800.

Forwards
At the forward spots tonight, there are 2 guys that everyone should pick in their line ups.  The first is Tobias Harris.  In Orlando, the offense runs through Harris and he is cheap for his value.  The other forward is Zach Randolf.  Z bo is set to have a big game tonight, I say put him in.

Center
My value play at center tonight is Robin Lopez.  Hes on 5000 and he is capable of scoring 20 and 10.

Football Preview

Tonight the Arizona Cardinals take on the St. Louis Rams in a Thursday night NFC West division match up.  What kind of fantasy implications does this have you ask?  The Cardinals are one of the best defensive teams in the NFL so they are always a good team to pick.  The problem is the hot the Rams.  St. Louis is coming off two straight weeks without giving up a point.  So who are the guys to look at this week in this match up.

I would't choose a quarterback from this game personally.  Normally, I would say Carson Palmer is a good pick, but he is out for the season with a hurt knee.

Trey Mason is on a tear the past two weeks.  He scorched the Raiders for almost 200 yards including an 80 yard touchdown run.  Against the Cardinals, he'll have a tough week.

I would say the only picks in this game to seriously consider are Larry Fitzgerald and the Cardinals defense.  Fitz has not had a very "Fitz-like" season.  He's been bared by injuries but has the chance to put up good numbers this week.  The Cardinal's defense is the best play of the game.

My thoughts on the season: Basketball

I just wanted to take some time to talk about my views on the fantasy season so far and my predictions for the future.  Right now I'm am sitting in the negatives for playing basketball, but this is still a learning process for me.  I am new to Draftkings so this is my chance to really learn the ropes.  I think that I am beginning to really understand how to win in money games.

My reaction to this season so far is one that leaves me wanting more.  There have been a lot of key injuries to some of the best players in the league so far this season.  I think that this changed how I look at my lineups each night.  Players like Kevin Durrant are on a minutes watch, so it makes a lot of bench guys valuable.  One disappointment so far for me would be Jeremy Lin.  I have been a huge fan of Lin since his days in New York.  I honestly think that he is a great player in this league but he needs to start playing his game again.

Overall, I think that this learning process has been very beneficial for me.  I am learning a lot about how daily fantasy basketball works.

More Basketball

Today has a lot of possible low scoring match ups and even more possible let down picks.  Lets get to it.

Point Guard
Darren Collison is the man tonight,  He is coming in on a hot streak and is only laying at 6900 on Draftkings.  I expect him to have a double-double and maybe even 20 points,

Shooting Guard
My pick tonight for shooting guard is tough.  Look for Monte Ellis to either to big things or a huge let down.  Also, players like D-Wade and Kobe may be something to look into if you are willing to spend the cap.

Small Forward
RUDY GAY RUDY GAY RUDY GAY.  I can't say it enough.  He has potential to drop big numbers and without Cousins in the game again (injury) he will be a huge threat.  Also, if you are willing to spend it all, you can pick Lebron.

Power Forward
So my value pick tonight is a man who is getting a good amount of minutes and is very cheap.  Amar'e Stoudemire.  I can guarantee 35+ points if he plays at least 30 mins tonight.

Centers
My center choice is split between 3 cheap studs.  You can either pick Valanciunas, Asik, or even Lopez.  All these guys are cap friendly and have the capability to put up 40 fantasy points.

Hockey is the Way to Go

So, I haven't played daily fantasy hockey in a few days, but I have a few good picks for tonight.

Centers
Sidney Crosby is now cheaper than his colleague Evgeni Malkin.  Crosby has also officially lost his lead in points in the NHL to Tyler Seguin.  I expect Crosby to do something on few players in history were capable of doing.  Look for Crosby to show why he's one of the all-time greats.

Wingers
Rick Nash is entering the game against the Pens as one of the leading goal scorers in the game.  Normally, he doesn't do well against the Penguins, but Fleury is wearing his yellow pads tonight.  If you know the story of his original yellow pads, then you know that they give an edge to the shooter because of the contrast of color to the ice and boards.  Look for Nash to take advantage.

Defense
Justin Faulk is the most not talked about defenseman in the league.  The team USA member average big minutes, but most importantly, he does it while on the power play.  Look for Faulk to make an impact.

Goalie
Martin Brodeur is one of  the greatest goalies of all-time.  He is now lucky enough to play for one of the best defensive teams in the league.  Look for Brodeur to possibly have a shutout.  It would be a great pick.

Basketball Tonight!!

So tonight, I'm throwing a decent amount into basketball.  Lets get into it

Point Guards
John Wall continues to be a great pick for fantasy players.  He has at least 12 assists in his last 3 games.  He is a monster at home and the match up against Rondo who is an average defender.  Look for Wall to continue to destroy teams.

Shooting Guard
The best back-court in the league holds one of the best three-point shooters in the league.  Clay Thompson looks to put up big numbers tonight.  I could see him hitting 5 three-pointers tonight.  A big night may be in store for Clay, as long as they don't blow out their match up

Forwards
I'm Looking towards Rudy Gay and the former Mr. Kardashian Kris Humphries.  Rudy Gay is relatively cheap for someone who shoots so much.  Humphries is on a tear right now and it is a revenge game for him against his former team.

Centers
Enes Kanter is a solid player.  He was a high draft pick who hasn't been doing much.  His last few games have been pretty good.  The Kings are without their star center Cousins.  Kanter could be a good pick.

Stamer All the Way

Hockey is tough tonight because there are some pretty good match-ups that might lead to some low scoring games.  The key is to find the guys who are going to put the puck in the net.  In nights like this that have very good hockey teams matched up against each other, I like to pick the superstars because these are the games that make them great.

Centers
Two words, one name, Steven Stamkos.  Stamer has to have a big game tonight because the Lightning take on a tough New York Rangers team.  He's worth the big price tonight.  You can also look at at guy like Ryan Johansen.  He'll be the best player on the ice tonight in the Columbus-Florida matchup.  Look for him to possibly score a few.

Wings
I'm going cap friendly tonight with wingers.  I like at hot Nikita Kucherov, with points in seven of his last ten games.  I could see him netting a goal or an assist.  Other players to look out for who come in cheap are Mikkel Boedker who is always looking to score and Corey Perry.  Perry is one of the best wings in the league so he's a bit pricey, be definitely worth it.

Defense
As always, I like to save cap on the defense because even the best defenseman can have an off night.  Lets start out with an offensive machine in Andrei Markov.  He's got only 10 points this season, but has recently come off of his 100th career goal.  Look for him to get some good time on the power-play tonight and maybe even put in number 101. Another defenseman to look at is Anton Stralman.

Goalie
It seems I never good at picking goalies, so I'm taking my roommates advice tonight.  We're going with a struggling Mike Smith.  He's cap friendly, at nearly the minimum, but he has the upside of being very talented.  In a match-up of two of the league worst, look for Arizona to beat up of Edmonton.

Go Mo!!!

So, today I'll be playing as many sports as possible because there is a decent amount of games.  I haven't been wining as much as I'd like these days but here are some of my picks for the NBA tonight.

Point Guard
There are four games tonight, which means slim pickings for.  Except its not!  There is one guard to pick tonight because he's been on fire.  Most people are going to pick Mo Williams tonight, so its a good idea to go with the majority.  His last two games he's put up 47 and 49 fantasy points.  He's the only scoring the Timberwolves have because Kevin Martin is hurt and you can't depend on the rookie Wiggins.  So, tonight go Mo.

Shooting Guard
Tonight, there is a pretty good matchup with this position.  Dwayne Wade and Bradley Beal will be taking the court against each other.  You could go either way with this one.  Both play big minutes, but I think that Beal edges out D-Wade tonight.  Just based on price, Beal comes in much more cap friendly and is capable of scoring just as much.

Forwards
I'm looking at forwards is always tough.  Its hard to tell if a low cap guy will put up a double-double or a double zero.  My advice would be go with Derrick Favors.  He's got a good shot of putting up over 30 fantasy points.  You could also look at players like Kawhi Leonard and the cap friendly Hollis Thompson.

Center
If you have the cap, Chris Bosh is the way to go.  Though he has a tough match-up in Marcin Gortat, he has the ability to play the perimeter better than most centers in the league.  I think both of these players will have pretty good nights, with Gortat edging out Bosh in rebounds.  I see Bosh putting up another 20 and 10 night with Gortat near matching those numbers.
